UHC Rivals — Minecraft Java 26.2
A two-player UHC datapack: persistent rivalry points, PvP, contested supply drops, shared bounties, risky personal contracts, sabotage, and 25-minute ABBA caving. There is no match time limit. This replaces UHC Ready rather than running beside it.
Install and play
- Use a fresh Java 26.2 Survival world, not Minecraft's Hardcore world mode. The pack implements two lives itself. Starting clears the two participants' inventories and gives food; it does not restore terrain or old inventories.
- Copy
dist/uhc-rivals-26.2.zipdirectly into the world'sdatapacks/directory. Alternatively copy theuhc-rivals/folder. Install one, not both. - Remove/disable the original
uhcready-1.14.0pack in that world. Keep other packs that change these ore loot tables disabled to preserve ABBA accounting. - As host/operator, run
/reload. - Both players run
/trigger ur.join. Then the host runs/function ur:start. - Use
/trigger ur.menufor the clickable player menu. Players do not need OP.
Spectators and other online players do not join automatically. Exactly two joined,
online participants are required. On a dedicated server, also keep PvP enabled in
server configuration. This pack sets the 26.2 minecraft:pvp gamerule to true.
Match rules
- Hard difficulty, natural health regeneration off, inventory dropped on death.
- Direct PvP remains on, including during ABBA; there is no friendly team.
- First death: lose two points (minimum zero), fail the current contract, respawn
at a safe Overworld surface with stone tools, leather chestplate and food.
Death coordinates are printed using
LastDeathLocation; original drops remain. - Recovery grants 30 seconds of Resistance V and Weakness, blocks scoring and sabotage, and then expires. It does not rescue items already destroyed by lava.
- Second death eliminates the player. The last survivor wins; simultaneous final deaths draw. The host can finish early and compare points instead.
- The border is centered at
0,0: 1,000 blocks wide initially, 400 at two hours, 200 at six hours, then holds. These are widths, not radii. It updates each second. - A disconnect pauses match timers and the border. Connected participants become
spectators with return anchors. Once both return, the host runs
ur:resume. Pausing also pauses the Overworld day clock. Resume restores the anchor position. /reloadre-applies the match rules without clearing scores, timers or decks.
Events and content
content/catalog.json contains the editable, named content catalogue. The built
pack also includes CATALOG.json. All decks are random draws without replacement;
expired offers are consumed, and an exhausted deck stops instead of repeating.
| System | Cadence | Content and reward |
|---|---|---|
| Shared bounty | Every five event minutes, starting at minute five | 96 objectives; first completion gets two points and one sabotage charge |
| Risk board | Three offers every ten event minutes, first board at minute five | 120 contracts; each offer can be accepted by one player |
| Supply drop | Every eight event minutes, first drop at minute eight | 60 distinct loot packages; one-minute coordinate warning; first claim earns one point |
| ABBA | Mutual opt-in after ten match minutes | 25-minute round; 30-minute cooldown after settlement |
With the Nether disabled there are 85 bounties and 108 contracts, covering six hours of scheduled offers without repeats. Items such as golden apples recur across loot packages; the complete package never repeats. There are 24 initial packages, 24 more unlock after 30 match minutes, and 12 after 60 minutes.
Mining/killing/crafting/fishing counters start when the objective starts. Block
IDs are exact: deepslate diamond ore is distinct from ordinary diamond ore.
Delivery objectives consume the requested items and deliberately allow stockpiled
supplies. Deliveries and stolen-cargo redemption take place on the surface within
eight blocks of 0,0. The map can make some objectives harder than others; expired
ones leave the deck. Nether-only entries are excluded when the Nether is disabled.
Supply drops
Drops appear at random safe Overworld surfaces inside the current border. A marker
reserves the landing location and the chunk stays loaded during the warning. Existing
blocks and containers are not overwritten: an obstructed landing releases its loot
as item drops. Normal landings produce named chests. Opening a chest claims its
point automatically; /trigger ur.claim is the nearby manual claim alternative.
Contents remain available to steal. Horse packages spawn a tamed horse for the claimant.
Themes include diamond tools, TNT, armoured cavalry, enchanted weapons/armour, golden apples, enchanted golden apples, totems, potions, pearls, tridents, maces, crossbows, trap supplies, wind charges and recovery supplies. The catalogue has individually composed packages rather than one table with random quantities.
Risk contracts
Run /trigger ur.take set 4 to read the current board, then click an offer or use
/trigger ur.take set 1, 2, or 3. You must have one point to stake. Success
returns the stake plus two to four points and any listed item reward. Death,
timeout or violating a restriction loses the stake. One active contract per player.
- Couriers visit two surface checkpoints in six minutes or three in nine minutes; the two three-checkpoint night routes allow seven minutes to fit within a night.
- Daredevil Courier requires no armour and publicly reveals your coordinates.
- Hot Potato is a timed freight route; expiry costs the stake, not an unannounced explosion.
- Diamond Dispatch and Golden Temptation issue physical sealed cargo. Keep it to
finish. If killed, the paper drops with your inventory. A rival can steal it and
redeem its goods on the central surface with
/trigger ur.cash. An owner cannot redeem their own cargo early. Timeouts invalidate cargo; death leaves it stealable. - Wanted contracts reveal your position; surface contracts require staying above ground.
- Other contracts cover mining, fishing, hunting and material deliveries.
- No armour means all four armour slots empty. No shield means no shield held in either hand. Night means remaining in the night period throughout; inspect the deadline before accepting, because dawn can cause failure.
- Revealed coordinates include the dimension and update every 12 seconds.
Sabotage
Win bounties to earn charges (maximum two). Run /trigger ur.sabotage set 5 for
the menu. Attacks cost one charge and have a two-minute cooldown.
- Blackout: eight seconds of Darkness.
- Snitch: coordinate broadcasts for 20 seconds.
- Unwanted company: warning, then two ordinary zombies where there is room nearby.
- Heavy boots: ten seconds of Slowness I.
Attacks do not stack, cannot target recovery protection, and pause during ABBA. Direct PvP is unaffected.
ABBA caving
Both players run /trigger ur.challenge within 60 seconds of each other. A round
lasts 1,500 seconds. Bounties, contract deadlines and supply-drop scheduling pause;
the border and match-age loot unlocks continue. Players stay in their existing world
with their own equipment and can attack each other. Death forfeits the round.
| Ore block mined | Cave points | Bank payout per block |
|---|---|---|
| Redstone | 1 | 1 redstone |
| Lapis | 1 | 1 lapis lazuli |
| Gold | 3 | 1 raw gold |
| Diamond | 5 | 1 diamond |
| Emerald | 7 | 1 emerald |
| Coal, iron, copper | 0 | Normal mining drops, kept by the miner |
Both ordinary and deepslate scoring ores count. Scoring ores do not drop items during ABBA: their one-resource-per-block proceeds are banked automatically. Fortune does not multiply cave points or escrow. The winner receives both banks and three match points. Ties return each player's bank. Existing inventory is untouched.
During a live match, Silk Touch produces normal resources from these five ore types rather than ore blocks, preventing a mine/place/re-mine loop. Outside a match their vanilla loot is restored. Use a fresh world: pre-existing ore-block stashes or operator-given items are outside the anti-recycling rules.
Host controls
| Command | Action |
|---|---|
/function ur:start |
Start with exactly two joined players |
/function ur:pause |
Pause at current locations |
/function ur:resume |
Resume when both participants are online |
/function ur:finish |
Settle any ABBA round and announce final scores |
/function ur:reset |
Clear roster/event state after finishing; does not restore the world |
/scoreboard players set #nether ur.cfg 1 |
Enable Nether travel and Nether offers before starting |
/scoreboard players set #nether ur.cfg 0 |
Default: disable Nether travel and skip its offers |
The original uhcr:start, uhcr:ready, uhcr:starttime and uhcr:stoptime names
are aliases. Use the new ur: commands for clarity. Finish/reset leaves match
gamerules and terrain in place; choose a fresh world for a clean rematch.
